I went on a shopping trip this evening There's a LEGO store at the Bluewater mall in North Kent. About 23 miles from the hotel, but due to the high speed train line - just 17minutes away!

Anyway, on the way back from the train, through St Pancras station, I was carrying 2 large LEGO carrier bags. Within 2 minutes (I kid you not) of getting off the train, two independent people stopped me as I walked by, just to say that they though what I was carrying was cool, or that someone would be very happy when I got home!
I stopped off in the pub for a quick drink and the guys sitting near the bar starting talking about how cool LEGO was once they saw the carrier bags. Passing another hotel walking back, I heard shouts of 'LEGO!' from a group of 17yr olds.

it struck me that you could try that with an IBM carrier bag, Coke carrier bag - even an Apple carrier bag and you just wouldn't get the same reaction. Kitty and I have had the same reaction at Lotusphere, but this is a totally random selection of the public. Think what you might of LEGO - I can't think of any such brand that creates so much buzz, you've got to give them that.
