Well, we're finally home and almost unpacked. It's been a busy few weeks!

UKLUG on Wednesday was a great success. I've just realised that *I* haven't said anything about yet, which is very remiss of me - so here we go! As I said at the end of day, the one word that I really wanted to say was 'thankyou'.

Firstly, thankyou to everyone who battled the M25 and made it to Hatfield. Apparently, traffic was a nightmare that day - so thankyou to the 100+ people that came along. Secondly, thankyou to all our sponsors that made the event happen: Computacenter, Commontime, Blackberry, Teamstudio, Ytria, HADSL and Symantec. We've had good feedback already about their attendance. Thirdly, thanks to our speakers - Kevin Cavanaugh, Vince Shuurman, Paul, Bill, everyone at Prudential, S&N, HSBC, Standard Life and the Salvation Army.

Finally, thanks to the team of people that made things happen - Paul, Matt, Julian, Mike, Bill, Frank, Justyn, Georgina, Beth, Darren, Aarti - and everyone else who I'm sure I've just forgotten. Also - a big thankyou to Mark Calleran of the Salvation Army. For not only presenting, but MC'ing the whole morning for us and keeping everyone entertained.

So, what next I hear you cry (or I asked in my session)? Well, firstly - no firm plans yet. It's time to relax a little. But, we do have plans for UKLUG 2008, and the idea of a UKLUG Lotusphere Comes to You in February seemed to go down very well too - so, watch this space. We're also looking at some very cool stuff to integrate UKLUG with Facebook, and of course Lotusphere itself isn't too far away. I did speak to a certain vendor about sponsoring a European party there.... So, lots still to do.

Anyway, I have real work to catch up on, sleep to catch up on, and we have house guests arriving any time soon. So, I'll duck my head back down again - and promise to get back to blogging more regularly. Honest!

Sorry for the slight radio silence this week, it's tuned out to be a very busy week indeed. Collab U Kansas went very well indeed - a good turn out, some interesting discussions with the IBMers there, and a very friendly atmosphere. I'm looking forward to London!

Talking of London (well, Hatfield), plans carry on apace for UKLUG. I can officially say that you are all very lucky people . We're staying chez Novak for the weekend, then flying back to London on Sunday afternoon - so I guess access is going to be even more intermittent than it has been this last week. Ah well, I promise to keep you all up to date.

Oh, and if you're in London for the launch event on Tuesday night, come say hello. All of the CU guys will be there, so we'll look forward to meeting you.

Collaboration University - Day 1

Day 1 at CU, and it's a very nice atmosphere. I actually managed some sleep last night (which always helps....). The hotel have setup very professionally (note to self: stick with fasfold screens...), and already the delegates are chatting away to the IBM'ers and speakers. The really good thing about CU is the time you get to spend with the speakers - to really solve your real world problems.

So, if you're in Europe and not registered for CU yet - go to www.collaborationuniversity.com and take a look. You won't regret it.

Oh, and BTW - Mac client for Notes 8 should beta early next year. Woohoo!

Sorry for the lack of insightful comment recently. It's been a little busy around elsmore towers recently...

As an example, I'm currently sitting at a service station on the M40 motorway, waiting to meet a colleague, to hand him some customer PDA's to start developing a mobile app. Then it's off to pick up Kitty from Heathrow, stay with Pants, drop off allot of UKLUG kit (which is currently filling my car to the roof...) at the Turtle partnership. Then go to a wedding on Saturday, then fly to Kansas on Sunday for Collaboration University Monday->Wednesday. Then spend 2 days in the SNAPPS global headquarters, then back to the UK for customer meetings, CU London setup, the Notes 8 launch, CU London, London Lotus peeps drinks, then back to Edinburgh for 2 days, then back down to Hatfield for UKLUG. Then it's October....

Basically, things have been like this for the last month now, so I've been a little busy (oh yes, and researching & writing CU presentations in whatever downtime I did yet!). Is it going to stop? Well, not really - at least till November. Then I've got Admin2007 in December in Barcelona. Oh, and Lotusphere in January - so with luck I'll be writing presentations for that all the way through December.

Then it's Christmas. Normal service will be resumed shortly. Or, failing that, I'll be the one curled up in a corner slowly rocking...
