Airport hell..

OK, not really hell - I've had worse. But not good.

Marks up - the airside bar at Caridff airport is under new management, so it doesn't close before the flights leave and actually serves OK food. Extra points for Bangers&Mash
Marks down - It's midweek and bank holidays and the whole of the West country and Wales seems to be going to Eye-beef-a

I suppose I'll never understand - not having kids - but why drag numerous screaming little things away, making them travel for hours, to somewhere where they'll undoubtedly get far too hot in, then start screaming again. Whilst they refuse to eat any local food and just want McDonalds? And of course, you don't want to miss the 'long' flight so you need to turn up 3 HOURS before the flight takes of. Ladies, it's Cardiff airport with a total security queue of NO PEOPLE, EVER. I wouldn't turn up at Heathrow 3 hours in advance.

Why not just stick the kids in the car and go somewhere in the UK? No language problem, proper fish&chips everywhere and no long flights. I'm not bitter, really - I just don't understand. You know I travel alot, and I choose the most appropriate method every time. On trips with big bags, take. the. car. Which also makes me wonder, on airlines where you pay for each bag - do parents pay for pushchairs?

Anyway, some free advice to Cardiff airport. If you want to attract business passengers, who travel frequently on your more expensive flights, provide somewhere QUIET for them. The bar should not be positioned next to a games room full of air hockey machines. The quietest corner of the airport shouldn't be the creche. Oh, and FlyBE - please open a lounge in Cardiff!!!!!!!!!!!

ps. if the little monster who is eyeing up my shiny Macbook grabs it, I will grab him...
