Apologies for the radio silence - I think I'm still recovering from a busy summer - sleep is high on the agenda!
Anyway, I'm on my way back home now from an interesting week working with GSX Monitor, a Quickplace server that refused to start and a whole bunch of other problems, largely sorted. I have also gained some more cracking stories that I can't tell you about here I'm afraid
I can tell you that Quickplace won't start when CollationType
is in the Notes.ini though.
Also, we looked at the customers' enterprise Sametime rollout. The question was: should they call it 'Sametime', or 'Company IM System' or even something abstract. Like 'Roger'? We tried it out....
"Can I Roger people in another company?"
"Hang on, I'll just Roger Susan"
"Fred is currently Rogering Steve"
"I gave it to Betty when I Rogered her"
"Roger has gone down!"
"Susan and Fred are in a three-way Roger with Darren"
"Look, I can Roger 15 people at once!"
Hmm.... perhaps not.....
PS - If the woman in the queue opposite me happens by some weird chance to be reading this, being in your 50's, with platinum blond hair and bright red T-shirt (slightly too small) that says 'Wales' in diamonte - is NOT a good look. Oh crap, it's another hen party on it's way to Edinburgh. There are more of them!
