I've been over in Dublin for the last couple of days, doing a little for for these lovely people at Bluewave. So, as usual - cheapo flight time from Edinburgh to Dublin.

But, it's all new! For those of you flying to/from Dublin on Ryanair, you'll now find that 'Pier D' has opened, and it's the new home for about 1/2 their flights. It is very nice - really. Spacious, quiet, airy - pretty everything the previous mega-porta-cabin wasn't*. But, near check-in it ain't! I'm not kidding, it must be at least half a mile from security to the new gate for Edinburgh flights - right at the end of the pier. I'm not even entirely sure if I haven't walked back to Belfast by now...

Ah well, I guess it'll grow on me. There's a big bar about to open near the gate, and it does for once seem civilised. As soon as the foot blisters recede and I buy hiking boots, that is Oh, my plan for the rest of the week includes meetings tomorrow, Thursday and Friday - so don't expect to hear much from me until Barcelona. When you should expect to hear lots from me, obviously

* For those that missed the pleasure at ILUG, Ryanair (always keen to save any money they can, and I'm sure that's why their flights got moved), were moved into a portacabin during the construction of Pier D. No, really - a really, really, really big portacabin - made of lots of little portacabins stuck together. And, to get you there, about 200 portacabins connected sideways to form what used to be the longest walkway in the airport. Imagine the scene: 8 departure gates, one big portacabin, not enough room to move, one shop, awful acoustics, screaming kids, parents, grandparents....
