That Lotusphere justification document I mentioned

Paul just prompted me to publish this - sorry, it's well overdue. This attached PDF is a verbatim copy of a document I wrote in 2005, which justified the attendance of myself and a colleague to go to Lotusphere. This was updated from a similar document in 2004.

Back in the dark ages, although I was 'chief techie' of the Notes team for a pan-European systems integrator, I still had to justify the cost. So I wrote this. Some of the details have aged, but not very many. The prices are still pretty similar too. In fact, if you want one recommendation from me - argue the point on price. Hotel+flights+entry = £2500. One weeks training course in London could well cost you the same. Which do you think you'll get more value from?

And if you need more reasons to go - think of this. When that systems integrator decided to close down their Notes practice, I put my hand in my own pocket and paid that £2500 myself (remember, I now had no job). What happened? I talked to other BP's, we started BE, and 3 years later  we're pretty happy with the progress And I'm not the only person who's done that successfully either.
